A beauty-brand identity project exploring how a lotus-inspired logo could be developed into a cohesive product line.
The brand, Lotus Bloom, is centered around the lotus flower and aims to communicate elegance, tranquility, and a luxurious experience through scented beauty products.
The lotus flower served as the foundation of the brand identity. I used the lotus as a symbol of purity, spiritual enlightenment, and rebirth, while also drawing on its visual connection to beauty and scented products.
The original color palette included pastel blue, green, and pink, representing the water, leaves, and petals surrounding the lotus.
I developed a series of product and marketing mockups to explore how the identity could translate across different applications.
Initial concepts included:
Business card
Candle packaging
Perfume bottle
Phone case
Poster
Shopping bag
I experimented with turquoise, mint, and lavender gradients across the mockups while consistently pairing the logo with the brand name.
During the work-in-progress critique, I realized that the original blue and purple gradient, while visually appealing, didn't fully align with the concept.
For the final direction, I simplified the palette to pink, white, and black:
Pink — inspired by the lotus petals
White — a clean complement to the pink
Black — used for packaging text
I also adjusted the shopping bag by reducing the logo size and changing the handles from purple to white.
I expanded the brand beyond perfume and candles to include products that fit a scented beauty collection, including:
Body lotion · Hand lotion · Liquid hand soap · Essential oil · Shower gel
For the final packaging, I inroduced Lotus Bloom as the product collection name and used a simplified K wordmark alongside the product information.
I also refined the typography based on peer feedback, using different weights to distinguish the collection name, product type, and product volume.
